MAXIMIZE YOUR MOMENT
How to Get the Most Use Out of Your Life

Ephesians 5: 6-20NLT 10 Carefully determine what pleases the Lord. 11 Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them. 12 It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret. 13 But their evil intentions will be exposed when the light shines on them, 14 for the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said, “Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light.” 15 So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. 16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days [ethically wicked]. 17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.
James 4: 13-17, 13 Look here, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit.” 14 How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone. 15 What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.” 16 Otherwise, you are boasting about your own pretentious plans, and all such boasting is evil. 17 Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.

Ecc. 9: 10, Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.

Romans 12: 6-8, In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. 7If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. 8 If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.

Maximize – 1). to increase to the greatest possible amount or degree; 2). to represent at the highest possible estimate; magnify
Moment - a definite period or stage, as in a course of events; juncture:

5 Spiritual Strategies that can help you maximize your moments

1.     Learn to work with the Holy Spirit
1Co 3:9NIV -  For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.  10 By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.

2.      Remain in Christ and allow fruit to produce
John 15:16 ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

3.     Delight and have pleasure in the Lord
Psalms 1:1-3, Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.

4.      Know your season and time
2Eccl 3:1 To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. Preach the word of God. 2 Tim 4:2, Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching.

5.     Remain Salty!
Mat. 5: 13 NLT, “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.

Characteristics Of A Person Who Maximizes Their Moments

·         Committed – 2Chron. 19:9, These were his instructions to them [Levites, priest & leaders]: “You must always act in the fear of the LORD, with faithfulness and an undivided heart.

·         Communicates – Psa. 37:30, The godly offer good counsel; they teach right from wrong.

·         Right Priority – Mat. 6:24, “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

·         Good Understanding – 1Kings 3: 9, [Solomon prayed], Give me an understanding heart so that I can govern your people well and know the difference between right and wrong. For who by himself is able to govern this great people of yours?”

·         Wise – Eccl. 7: 2, Wisdom is a shelter as money is a shelter, but the advantage of knowledge is this: Wisdom preserves those who have it.

·         Excellent – Dan. 6: 3, Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the governors and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king gave thought to setting him over the whole realm.

EXPERIENCING RESURRECTION POWER DAILY
Romans 8:1-11
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, 4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. 10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

PREMISE: There is resurrection power dwelling in every believer that will not be activated unless we set our mind on it.

1.     The Spirit can help you overcome the flesh.
Romans 8:4-5
4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
2.     The Spirit can lend you His Emotions
Galatians 5:23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control.
3. The Spirit can give you information
1 Corinthians 2:16
16 For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?But we have the mind of Christ.

4.     We can let the Holy Spirit Pray through us
Romans 8:26-28
26 Likewise, the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. 28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
a.   It Builds our Faith
Jude 1:20
20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 14:4
He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself….

b.   It Provides spirit to Spirit communication with God.
1 Corinthians 14:2
For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit, he speaks mysteries.

Video of scientific research proving speaking in tongues is a spirit practice

c.    It’s Healthy
1 Corinthians 14:4
He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself….
Dr. Carl Peterson, M.D. conducted a study at ORU in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Being a brain specialist, he was doing research on the relationship between the brain and praying or speaking in tongues. He found that as we pray in the Spirit or worship in the Spirit (our heavenly language), the brain releases two chemical secretions that are directed into our immune systems giving a 35 to 40 percent boost to the immune system. This promotes healing within our bodies. Amazingly, this secretion is triggered from a part of the brain that has no other apparent activity in humans and is only activated by our Spirit-led prayer and worship!

5.     The Holy Spirit will be your best Friend.
2 Corinthians 13:14

14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen
