IS ANYONE WORTHY

Part 2

The Serpent Crusher

Adam and Eve (Genesis 1-3) - Covenant

Cain and Abel (Genesis 4)

Noah (Genesis 6-9) - Covenant

Abraham & Sarah - Covenant

Moses (Exodus 2,34) Covenant

David - Covenant

Solomon

IS ANYONE WORTHY?

Malachi 3:1

1Behold, I will send My messenger, who will prepare the way before Me. Then the Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to His temple—the Messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight—see, He is coming,” says the LORD of Hosts.

THE OLD TESTAMENT ENDS!!!!!

The New testament begins with the Gospels……. Matthew Mark Luke John

Which introduce us to this man named Jesus.

Who met all the tangible requirements to be messiah!

But will he fail?

Matthew 4:8-11

Mark 3:21

21 And when his family heard it, they went out to seize him, for they were saying, He is out of his mind.”

Matthew 28:5

5 Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.

Jesus meets the 11 disciples:

Matthew 28:18-20

18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Through his sacrifice he has redeemed man!

Revelation 5:1-5

1 Then I saw in the right hand of him who was seated on the throne a scroll written within and on the back, sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?” 3 And no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look into it, 4 and I began to weep loudly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it. 5 And one of the elders said to me, Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.”

Questions:

1. Why didn't anything happen when eve ate the fruit:

Genesis 2:5-9

5 When no bush of the field a was yet in the land and no small plant of the field had yet  sprung up—for the LORD God had not caused it to rain on the land, and there was no  man to work the ground, 6 and a mist was going up from the land and was watering the  whole face of the ground— 7 then the LORD God formed the man of dust from the  ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a  living creature. 8 And the LORD God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there  he put the man whom he had formed. 9 And out of the ground the LORD God made  to spring up every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of  life was in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and  evil.

Genesis 2:15-18

15 The LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep  it. 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “You may surely eat of every  tree of the garden, 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall  not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

18Then the LORD God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will  make him a helper fit fore him.”

1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the LORD God  had made.

He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the  garden’?” 2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in  the garden, 3 but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the  midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’”

Ex. No you cant have it…. If you even look at it ima whoop your behind

Possible ANSWER:

Eve was not present when God gave the command. The responsibility to ensure the  command was followed fell on the one who received it Adam.

2. It lucifer was kicked out of heaven for having evil thoughts and thinking himself like  God, how did that evil thought spirit reach the devil? If the devil wasn't the devil yet, who  planted The thought in his head?

Ezekiel 28: 13-19

13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you:  carnelian, chrysolite and emerald, topaz, onyx and jasper, lapis lazuli, turquoise  and beryl. Your settings and mountings were made of gold; on the day you were  created they were prepared. 14 You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for so I  ordained you. You were on the holy mount of God; you walked among the fiery  stones. 15 You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till  wickedness was found in you. 16 Through your widespread trade you were filled with  violence, and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God, and I  expelled you, guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones. 17 Your heart became  proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of  your splendor. So I threw you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before  kings. 18 By your many sins and dishonest trade you have desecrated your  sanctuaries. So I made a fire come out from you, and it consumed you, and I reduced  you to ashes on the ground in the sight of all who were watching. 19 All the nations who  knew you are appalled at you; you have come to a horrible end and will be no more.' “

This is under the assumption that sin is an external force.

Sin especially the sin of pride is created entirely by us.

James 1:12-15

12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive  the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. 13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be  tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished,  bringeth forth death.

Is Anyone Worthy 3.24.24

IS ANYONE WORTHY

Part 1

The why:

Malachi 1:1-2

1This is the burden of the word of the LORD to Israel through Malachi:

2“I have loved you,” says the LORD.

Malachi 2:17

17You have wearied the LORD with your words; yet you ask, “How have we wearied

Him?” By saying, “All who do evil are good in the sight of the LORD, and in them He

delights,” or, “Where is the God of justice?”

(BY ACCUSING HIM OF NOT BEING JUST)

Malachi 3:1-5

1“Behold, I will send My messenger, who will prepare the way before Me.a Then the Lord

whom you seek will suddenly come to His temple—the Messenger of the covenant, in whom

you delight—see, He is coming,” says the LORD of Hosts.

2But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He

will be like a refiner’s fire, like a launderer’s soap.

3And He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi and refine

them like gold and silver. Then they will present offerings to the LORD in righteousness.

4Then the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will please the LORD, as in days of old and

years gone by.

5“Then I will draw near to you for judgment. And I will be a swift witness against sorcerers

and adulterers and perjurers, against oppressors of the widowed and fatherless, and against

those who defraud laborers of their wages and deny justice to the foreigner but do not fear

Me,” says the LORD of Hosts.

Agree With Me | Pastor Tre Townsley | 3.17.24

Agree With Me

Matthew 20:1-16

1 For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire

laborers for his vineyard.  2  Now when he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius a

day, he sent them into his vineyard.  3  And he went out about the third hour and saw

others standing idle in the marketplace,  4  and said to them, ‘You also go into the

vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.’ So they went.  5  Again he went out about

the sixth and the ninth hour, and did likewise.  6  And about the eleventh hour he went out

and found others standing idle, and said to them, ‘Why have you been standing here

idle all day?’  7  They said to him, ‘Because no one hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You also

go into the vineyard, and whatever is right you will receive.’

8  “So when evening had come, the owner of the vineyard said to his steward, ‘Call the

laborers and give them their wages, beginning with the last to the first.’  9  And when those

came who were hired about the eleventh hour, they each received a denarius.  10  But

when the first came, they supposed that they would receive more; and they likewise

received each a denarius.  11  And when they had received it, they ] complained against the

landowner,  12  saying, ‘These last men have worked only one hour, and you made them

equal to us who have borne the burden and the heat of the day.’  13  But he answered one

of them and said, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a

denarius?  14  Take what is yours and go your way. I wish to give to this last man the

same as to you.  15  Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with my own things? Or is your

eye evil because I am good?’  16  So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are

called, but few chosen.”

 Landowner went out early in the morning to seek laborers

1 For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning

to hire laborers for his vineyard.

 There was an agreement as to what was right

2  Now when he had agreed with the laborers

 Around 9:00am he saw others standing idle in the marketplace

(argos=barren)

 He repeated this at noon and 3:00pm

 At 5:00pm he saw more people who were ‘standing idle all day’. This

apparently concerned the landowner

6  And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing idle, and

said to them, ‘Why have you been standing here idle all day?

 They were hired with the same promise of receiving ‘what is right’

 The landowner orchestrated the payout in a manner that those who

were hired first were able to see how much the one-hour workers

received

8  “So when evening had come, the owner of the vineyard said to his steward, ‘Call

the laborers and give them their wages, beginning with the last to the first.’

 Based on what they saw, they supposed the terms of their

employment had changed. The work performance of the one-hour

workers had now become the standard.

.  10  But when the first came, they supposed that they would receive more…

 But weren’t they right? Were their complaints legit?

12  saying, ‘These last men have worked only one hour, and you made them

equal to us who have borne the burden and the heat of the day.’

 When in doubt, go back to the origin

13  But he answered one of them and said, ‘Friend… Did you not agree with me

 Luke 15:31

31  “And he said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours.

 Romans 11:19-21

19  You will say then, “Branches were broken off that I might be grafted

in.”  20  Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith.

Do not be haughty, but fear.  21  For if God did not spare the natural branches, He

may not spare you either.

 Isaiah 59:21

21  “As for Me,” says the LORD, “this is My covenant with them: My Spirit

who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart

from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of

your descendants’ descendants,” says the LORD, “from this time and

forevermore.”

Boasting Only In The Cross | 3.10.24 | Pastor Chris

Boasting Only in the Cross

1 Corinthians 3: 1-7

1 Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as

people who are still worldly—mere infants in Christ. 2 I gave you milk, not solid food,

for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready. 3 You are still worldly.

For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not

acting like mere humans? 4 For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow

Apollos,” are you not mere human beings?

5 What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came

to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task. 6 I planted the seed, Apollos

watered it, but God has been making it grow. 7 So neither the one who plants nor the

one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.

What and who do we boast in?

As christians do we boast in our gifts, money, talents?????

1 Corinthians 1:17

17For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and not with words of

eloquent wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.

Galatians 6:14

May it never be that I would boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through

which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

Places where Paul himself uses the same word for “boast” or “exult”?

We exult in hope of the glory of God. ( Romans 5:2 )

We also exult in our tribulations, knowing that they produce patience and approvedness

and hope. ( Romans 5:3 )

Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses. ( 2 Corinthians 12:9 )

Who is our hope or joy or crown of exultation? Is it not even you?” ( 1 Thessalonians

2:19 ) (For you are our glory and joy.)

But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed I count

everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For

his sake I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as refuse, in order that I

may gain Christ. ( Philippians 3:7–8 )

We must only boast in Christ not success.

The Righteous Path | Pastor Chris Searcy

 The Righteous path

Setting biblical expectations for your life

We have been influenced by a Americanized Superstar consumeristic faith

That has led us to view any effort that isn’t scalable or package-able as insufficient

Together we’ll discover The Righteous Path!

Logical appeal:

Many believers feel discouraged because they haven’t done anything “BIG” for God.

They haven’t had an impact like the biblical characters that we see in the Bible.

Why cant I be like David, or Samson, or Joseph, or Esther.

How many biblical characters were there?

Approx. 3,000 (3,237) Bible characters named in the Scriptures,

approximately 1,400 (1,443) characters do not have unique names.

The Bible was written over 1,500 years.

The oldest book of the Bible, is either Genesis or Job, by Moses around 1400 BC, about

3,400 years ago.

The last book, Revelation, was written around 90 AD.

How many people were alive on earth during the biblical age.

The lowest estimate for global population in 1,400 BC was 50 million (lowest estimate).

By 90 AD the population grew to at least 150 million people (lowest estimate).

Lets assume the population never grew and it stayed at 50 million.

If so all of the biblical characters EVER listed in the Bible make up 0.006% of humans

on the earth.

Those odds are 3 in every 50,000 or Probability of not being in = 99.9940003599784%

At the 90 AD population estimate of 150 million, all of the biblical characters EVER

listed in the Bible make up 0.002%

Fractional odds 1 in 50,000 Probability of not being in = 99.9980000399992%

So what were all the other saved people doing?

Many were saved. story of the samaritan women with 5 husbands went and told the story and many in Samaria got saved. (John 4)

Biblical appeal:

Jesus didn’t just teach us what the righteous path is he modeled it for us!

Mark 6:1-3

1 Jesus left there and went to his hometown, accompanied by his disciples. 2 When the

Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were

amazed.

“Where did this man get these things?” they asked. “What’s this wisdom that has been

given him? What are these remarkable miracles he is performing? 3 Isn’t this the

carpenter? Isn’t this Mary’s son and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas and

Simon? Aren’t his sisters here with us?” And they took offense at him.

Here is what the Bible says about what the believer should aspire to:

Colossians 3:17

And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus,

giving thanks to God the Father through him.

1 Thessalonians 4:11-12

11 and to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your

hands, as we instructed you, 12 so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be

dependent on no one.

1 Timothy 2:1-4

1 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings

be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a

peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 3 This is good, and it is

pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all people to be saved and to

come to the knowledge of the truth.

James 1:27

27 Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and

widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.

Micah 6:8: "He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require

of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."

That is absolutely wrong

God receives just as much glory and honor through the man who works eight hours on

the assembly line in a God honoring way as he does a sermon that was preached.

!!!!!!!God Wants all of our lives!!!!!!!!

He wants all of our lives to be sacred and none of our lives to be secular.

Not just the part in the sanctuary from the people under the lights!

Matthew 5:16.

Let your light shine before men:

An incorrect theology on this sets 99% of people for failure and robs the 1% of people of

satisfaction and what God has done in their life.

Also, it takes a focus off of what is most important
