11/2 Becoming Who You Are III

Philippians 2:12-15

¹² Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. ¹³ For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. ¹⁴ Do all things without murmurings and disputings: ¹⁵ That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world

I.       WHO WE WERE.

1.    Born in Sin. Psalm 51:5

2.    Dead by one mans sin. Romans 5:12

3.    In Bad SHAPE. Ephesians 2:1-3

4.    Cut off from God’s Life. Ephesians 4:17-19

5.    Cut off from Covenants and Promises.

Ephesians 2:12-13

6.    Blind Mind. 2 Corinthians 4:4

7.    Under Power’s of Darkness. Colossians 1:13      

8.    Enemies of God. Romans 5:10

9.    Deserving Death. Romans 6:23

 

II.   WHAT JESUS DID.

1.    Became Sin for us. 2 Corinthians 5:21

2.    Became our Substitute. Galatians 3:13

3.    Became our Mediator. 1 Timothy 2:5

4.    Shed His Blood. 1 Peter 1:1-19

5.    Took His Blood before the Father. Hebrews 9:11-14

6.    Gave us All things for Life and godliness. 2 Peter 1:3-4

7.    Did it ALL for us. Isaiah 53:4-6

8.    Changed our Heart. Ezekiel 36:25-27

9.    Broke the Power of Sin. Romans 6:14

10.                        Works in us both desire and ability. Philippians 2:13

 

III.      WHO WE ARE.

1.    Born Again. 1 Peter 1:23

2.    Justified.  Romans 5:1

3.    Sanctified. 1 Corinthians1: 2

4.    Children of God.  Romans 8:16

5.    Infused with Seed of God. 1 John 3:9

6.    Temple’s of the Holy Spirit and The Living God

1 Corinthians 6:19, 1 Corinthians 3:16-17

7.    Blameless Before Him in Love. Ephesians 1:3-4

8.    Righteousness of God in Christ.  2 Corinthians 5:21

9.    Royal Priesthood.  1 Peter 2:9-10

10.                        Aroma of Christ

2 Corinthians 2:15 KJV

¹⁵ For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish.

 

2 Corinthians 2:15 NIV

¹⁵ For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.

 

 

11.                        Bride of Christ.

John 3:29-30

²⁹ He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. ³⁰ He must increase, but I must decrease.

 

Bridal partnership is all about reproduction from like kind

 

Genesis 2:20-25

²⁰ And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. ²¹ And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; ²² And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. ²³ And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. ²⁴ Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. ²⁵ And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

Romans 8:16-17

¹⁶ The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: ¹⁷ And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

 

13.                        Light of the World.

Matthew 5:14-16

¹⁴ Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. ¹⁵ Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. ¹⁶ Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

 

14.                        Salt of the Earth.

Matthew 5:13

¹³ Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

 

IV.  WHAT WE MUST DO.

1.    Keep your Position in Christ in Mind.

2 Corinthians 5:21

²¹ For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

 

2.    Work Out This Salvation.

Philippians 2:12

3.    Present our self as a Living Sacrifice.

Romans 12:1-2

 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. ² And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

 

4.    Do the Will of God.

Matthew 7:21

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven”
