MASTERING YOUR MONEY
II
God’s Plan for Your
Money
What does God want me to Have?
I.
ENOUGH TO LIVE
1.
Daily Bread
Matthew 6:9-11
9 In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in
heaven, Hallowed be Your name 10 Your kingdom come. Your will be
done On earth as it is in heaven. 11
Give us this day our daily bread.
2.
No Thought
Matthew
6:25-34
25 “Therefore
I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will
drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food
and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the
air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly
Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which
of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
28 “So
why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they
grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that
even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now
if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is
thrown into the oven, will He not
much more clothe you, O you of little
faith?
31 “Therefore
do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What
shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles
seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But
seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall
be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for
tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

ENOUGH TO BE PREPARED
Proverbs 6:6-8
6 Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her
ways and be wise, 7 Which,
having no captain, Overseer or ruler, 8 Provides her supplies in the
summer, And gathers her food in the
harvest. How long will you slumber, O sluggard? When will you rise from your
sleep? 10 A little sleep, a little slumber A little folding of the
hands to sleep— 11 So shall
your poverty come on you like a prowler, And your need like an armed man.
Proverbs 21:20
20 There
is desirable treasure, And oil in the dwelling of the wise, But a foolish
man squanders it.
Genesis 41:35-36
35 And let them gather all the food of those good
years that are coming, and store up grain under the authority of Pharaoh, and
let them keep food in the cities. 36 Then that food shall be as
a reserve for the land for the seven years of famine which shall be in the land
of Egypt, that the land may not perish during the famine.”
Luke 19:8
8 Then
Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to
the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore
fourfold.”
III.
ENOUGH TO GIVE
Acts 20:35
“…It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
Deut 8:18
18 “And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish
His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.
James 2:15-16
15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute
of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in
peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are
needed for the body, what does it
profit?
1 Cor. 16:2
2 On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up
as he may prosper, that there be no collections when I come.
IV.
ENOUGH TO ENJOY
1 Tim 6:17
17 Command those who are rich in this present age
not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who
gives us richly all things to enjoy.
Genesis 3:6
6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree
desirable to make one wise, she took
of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
2 Sam 12:8
8 I gave you your master’s house and your
master’s wives into your keeping, and gave you the house of Israel and Judah.
And if that had been too little, I
also would have given you much more!
V.
ENOUGH TO LEAVE
Prov 13:22
22 A good man
leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, But the wealth of the sinner
is stored up for the righteous.
Numbers 27:9-11
9 If he has no daughter, then you shall give his
inheritance to his brothers. 10 If he has no brothers, then you
shall give his inheritance to his father’s brothers. 11 And if
his father has no brothers, then you shall give his inheritance to the relative
closest to him in his family, and he shall possess it.’ ” And it shall be
to the children of Israel a statute of judgment, just as the Lord commanded Moses.
Exodus 3:6
6 Moreover
He said, “I am the God of your
father—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses
hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.
