Common Objections to Praying in the Spirit (Tongues)
1. Jesus didn’t speak in tongues:
a. Speaking in tongues is a gift of the Holy Spirit which began with the outpouring of the Holy Ghost on the day of Pentecost Act: 2. Thus, it was not available in the old covenant.
b. Now, Jesus mentioned the gift of tongues in the new covenant. Mk 16:17-18 “And these signs shall follow those who believe: In my name, they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents….”

Of if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, begin evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those that ask Him”
