KINGDOM KEYS

Matthew 16:19

19And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth is bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Mark 4:11

11And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:

Matthew 13: 11-13 (NIV)

11He replied, "Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.  12Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance.  Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.  13This is why I speak to them in parables: Though seeing, they do not see; thou hearing, they do not hear or understand.

I. What are the Keys?

1. principles - fundamental truths or propositions that serve as the foundation for a system of beliefs.  Principles are universal, permanent.

2. Laws - ordinances

3. System - when you understand how the system works, you can effectively apply them

4. Functions- keys initiate action. When you apply keys, things happen.

Keys are the principles by which the kingdom of God operates

Keys cannot be substituted  by feelings, emotions, wishful thinking or manipulation

Galatians 6:7-9

7Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption, but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 9And let us not be weary in well doing; for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Keys give you Authority, Rights and Power

II. Keys Represent

1. Authority in the kingdom of God 

Luke 10:16-18

16He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me. 17And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. 18He replied, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall any means hurt you.  20However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."

2. Access to the kingdom

Romans 8:14-17

14For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.16The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Mark 11:22

22And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. (He didn't say have faith in having enough faith)

3. Ownership...You are an authorized owner of what the keys access.

Mark 11:23

23For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

4. Control...you control how often you access heaven's resources

Luke 18:1

1And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

Mark 11:24

24Therefore I say unto you, What thing soever ye desire when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

5. Authorization...you are authorized access to heaven

Philippians 4:14-19

14Not withstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction. 15Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.  16for even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity.  17Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.  18But I have all and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well pleasing to God.  19But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

6. Power...you have the power to incorporate heaven's power in earth's affairs.

2 Corinthians 4: 6-10

6For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 7But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. 8We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; 10Always bearing in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

7. Freedom...

John 8: 31-32; 36

31Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free

36If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
