THE
HELPER
John
14:16-17
16 And I will pray the Father, and He
will give you another Helper, that He may abide
with you forever—17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot
receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He
dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not
leave you orphans (Comfortless); I will come to you.
SEVEN WAYS TO ACTIVATE HOLY SPIRIT IN OUR LIFE
1.
Know
Your Identity
1 Cor 3:16
Do you not know that
you are the temple of God and that
the Spirit
of God dwells in you?
1
Cor 6:19-20
Or
do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God,
and you
are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a
price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
2. Know
the Spirit’s Ability
Eph 3:20
Now
to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think,
according to the power that works in us.
1 John 4:4
“…greater is he that is
in you, than he that is in the world.”
3. Get
Full
Eph 5:18
And
be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; 19 Speaking
to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making
melody in your heart to the Lord.
4. Rest
in His Spirit’s Emotions
Gal
5:22-23
But
the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control.
5. Tap
Into the Spirit’s Information
1
Cor 2:16
For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But
we have the mind of Christ.
6. Make
Him Comfortable
a. Don’t
Grieve
Eph 4:30
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit
of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Eph 4:25-29
Therefore,
putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another. 26 “Be
angry, and do not sin”: do
not let the sun go down on your wrath, 27 nor give place to the
devil. 28 Let him who stole steal no longer, but
rather let him labor, working with his
hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need. 29 Let
no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for
necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.
b. Don’t
Quench
1
Thess. 5:19
Do not
quench the Spirit….
7. Do
Life With Him
2
Cor 13:14
The grace
of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy
Spirit be with you all. Amen
