John 14:16-17

¹⁶ And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—¹⁷ the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. ¹⁸ I will not leave you orphans (Comfortless); I will come to you.

  

SEVEN WAYS TO ACTIVATE HOLY SPIRIT IN OUR LIFE

1.      Know Your Identity

1 Cor 3:16

Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

                        1 Cor 6:19-20

Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? ²⁰ For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

                       

2.      Know the Spirit’s Ability

Eph 3:20

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.

1 John 4:4

“…greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

3.      Get Full

Eph 5:18

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; ¹⁹ Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.

4.      Rest in His Spirit’s Emotions

Gal 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ²³ gentleness, self-control.

5.      Tap Into the Spirit’s Information

1 Cor 2:16

For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

6.      Make Him Comfortable

a.      Don’t Grieve

Eph 4:30

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

Eph 4:25-29

Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another. ²⁶ “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, ²⁷ nor give place to the devil. ²⁸ Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need. ²⁹ Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

b.      Don’t Quench

1 Thess. 5:19

Do not quench the Spirit…^.

           

7.      Do Life With Him

2 Cor 13:14

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen
