Isaiah 9:6-7

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His

shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father,

Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the

throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice

From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Wonderful – marvelous, extraordinary, miraculous, admirable, something unusual

Counsellor – to give counsel, advice, plan, decide

Mighty God – manly, vigorous, strong, warrior, mighty, hero, champion

Everlasting Father - Father that last forever

Psalm 68:5-6

A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, Is God in His holy habitation.

6 God sets the solitary in families; He brings out those who are bound into prosperity;

But the rebellious dwell in a dry land

Prince of Peace – Prince (ruler, commander) of Shalom – completeness, soundness, wholeness,

prosperity, health intact (nothing missing, nothing broken)

Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end.

Dan 2:44-45

And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be

destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and

consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. 45  Inasmuch as you saw that the stone

was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the

clay, the silver, and the gold—the great God has made known to the king what will come to

pass after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation is sure.”
