IMPORTANCE
OF EMOTIONS.
1. Trichotomy
of Man. 1 Thessalonians 5:23
Spirit God Consciousness
Body World Consciousness
Soul (Emotions) Bridge the two
a.
Our Brains are made to prioritize emotions.
b.
Electrical Signals enter your brain at the base near
the spinal cord, but must travel to your frontal lobe (behind your forehead)
before reaching the place where rational, logical thinking takes place.
c.
They pass the limbic system before reaching the
frontal lobe. (Place where emotions are produced)
d.
You experience things emotionally before reasoning
joins in. (you feel before you comprehend)
e.
The rational brain can’t stop the limbic system but
they work together.
f.
We must learn to recognize emotions in us and others
and use them to manage our behavior.
2.
Believers have been taught to neglect emotions
3.
Satan seeks to exploit and damage the soul hindering
God’s plan for your life.
4.
Jesus came to bring Rest
unto our souls.
Matthew
11:28
28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give
you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am
gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
III.
NEXT
LEVEL EMOTIONS.
Ephesians
4:25-32
25 Wherefore putting
away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are
members one of another. 26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not
the sun go down upon your wrath: 27 Neither give place to the
devil. 28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him
labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to
give to him that needeth. 29 Let no corrupt communication
proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good fto the use of
edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. 30 And igrieve
not kthe holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of
redemption. 31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and
clamour, and pevil speaking, be put away from you, with all qmalice:
32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, tforgiving
one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

bosom of fools
Proverbs 16:32

glory to pass over a transgression.
a.
Resolve the issue
when/if you can.
b.
Forget it when you can’t.

are weak.
Wrath gives place to the Devil…
Neither
give place to the devil
(μηδε διδοτε τοπον τῳ
διαβολῳ [mēde
didote topon tōi diabolōi]). Present active imperative in

HOW
TO DEVELOP NEXT LEVEL EMOTIONS?
1.
Awareness they are hindering you.
2.
Ask God to help you and heal you.
3.
Acknowledge your faults to those close to you and ask
for prayer.
James 5:16

prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
4.
Ask God to show you WHY you react this way.
5.
Learn and rehearse scripture contrary to negative
emotions.
Psalm 1:1-3
Blessed is
the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of
sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 But his delight is
in the law of the Lord, And in His
law he meditates day and night. 3 He
shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its
fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does
shall prosper.
