GET READY FOR GLORY Watch-Night 2021


 

WHAT IS THE GLORY

GLORY (kabod) – Comes from the word (kabed) which means 1 to be heavy, be weighty, be grievous, be hard, be rich, be honorable, be glorious, be burdensome, be honored.

The word means - glory, honor, glorious, abundance. abundance, riches. honor, splendor, glory

 

I.               THE MANIFESTATION OF GLORY

 

1.     Tangible Manifestation of the Presence of God

 

2.     God proclaiming His Own Name

 

3.     Heavenly Transformation

2 Cor 3:18

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord

 

4.     The Lord Fights for You in Glory

Psalm 24:7-10

Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. 8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle. 9 Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. 10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory.

 

5.     Divine Protection

Zech2:5

For I,’ says the Lord, ‘will be a wall of fire all around her, and I will be the glory in her midst.’ ”

 

6.     Miracles 

John 2:11

This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.

 

7.     Prosperity

Haggai 2:6-9

For thus saith the Lord of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while,  And I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land7 And I  will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: And I will fill this  house with glory, saith the Lord of hosts. 8 The silver is mine, and the gold is  mine, saith the Lord of hosts. 9 The glory of this latter house shall be greater  than of the former, saith the Lord of hosts: And in this place will I give peace,  saith the Lord of hosts.

Phil 4:19

19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. 

 

II.              THE BACKDROP OF GLORY

 

1.     Darkness

Isaiah 60:1-3

Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. 2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. 3 The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising.

 

      Matthew 4:16

The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned.”

III.            PREPERATION FOR GLORY

 

1.     Hunger for the Glory

 

2.     Radical Sacrifice Brings the Glory

1 Kings 8:5,11

Also King Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel who were assembled with him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen that could not be counted or numbered for multitude… 10 And it came to pass, when the priests came out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the Lord11 so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the Lord filled the house of the Lord.

 

3.     Holiness brings Glory

Exo 19:10-11

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow and let them wash their clothes. 11 And let them be ready for the third day. For on the third day the Lord will come down upon Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people.

 

1 Samuel 4:19-21

Now his daughter-in-law, Phinehas’ wife, was with child, due to be delivered; and when she heard the news that the ark of God was captured, and that her father-in-law and her husband were dead, she bowed herself and gave birth, for her labor pains came upon her. 20 And about the time of her death the women who stood by her said to her, “Do not fear, for you have borne a son.” But she did not answer, nor did she regard it21 Then she named the child Ichabod, saying, “The glory has departed from Israel!

 

4.     Reverence and Awe

 

2 Samuel 6:3-8

So they set the ark of God on a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill; and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the new cart. And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill, accompanying the ark of God; and Ahio went before the ark. Then David and all the house of Israel played music before the Lord on all kinds of instruments of fir wood, on harps, on stringed instruments, on tambourines, on sistrums, and on cymbals. And when they came to Nachon’s threshing floor, Uzzah put out his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled. Then the anger of the Lord was aroused against Uzzah, and God struck him there for his error; and he died there by the ark of God. And David became angry because of the Lord’s outbreak against Uzzah; and he called the name of the place Perez Uzzah to this day.
