12/15/13 - THE BEAUTY OF WORKING FOR GOD

THE BEAUTY OF WORKING FOR GOD

1 Corinthians 15:51-58

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

I.                  WE ARE ALL EXPECTED TO DO SOMETHING FOR GOD

·        Matthew 21:28   28 But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard

·        Mark 13:34                         34 For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.

·        Matthew 25:14-30  14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. 15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. 16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. 17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two. 18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money. 19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. 20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. 21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. 22 He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them. 23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. 24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: 25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. 26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: 27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. 28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. 29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.

·        Dan. 12:3  3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

·        1 Cor. 3:13-16  13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. 14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

11/24 THE PRAISE PERSPECTIVE - BISHOP K. SEARCY

Psalm 46:1-10

God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.

2        Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed,

And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

3        Though its waters roar and be troubled,

Though the mountains shake with its swelling.

4        There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God,

The holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High.

5        God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved;

God shall help her, just at the break of dawn.

6        The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved;

He uttered His voice, the earth melted.

7        The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge.

8        Come, behold the works of the Lord, Who has made desolations in the earth.

9        He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;

He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariot in the fire.

10       Be still, and know that I am God;

I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!

11/17/13 Year of the Open door - Bishop K. Searcy

The Year of The Open Door

I.                  THE HEBREW ALPHABET

Wednesday, September 4th was the beginning of Rosh Hashanah or the Jewish New Year. The Jewish community does not use the Roman Gregorian calendar we do. It’s the Jewish Year of 5774.

In the Hebrew Alphabet each letter has a numerical value.

     Each Hebrew Character Has A Pictorial Meaning As Well.

·        Ayin dalet means “74″ in Hebrew – ayin meaning 70 and dalet, 4

·        Ayin means Eye (sight, revelation, wisdom, understanding the ability to perceive wisdom.

·        Dalet   is the picture of a hanging tent door. The door, dalet, also can mean the movement of one coming from or going into the tent.

II.              5774 PROPHETICALLY

1.   The Year Of The Open Door

a.  __________________________

b.  Decisions Will Need To Be Made Requiring Discernment

c.   _____________________________ Will Be Handed To You

Revelation 3:7-9 7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; 8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

2.   Not Just Horizontal Doors But Vertical Ones Also

Revelation 4:1-8      After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. 2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. 3 And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald. 4 And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold. 5 And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. 6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind. 7 And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle. 8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

Gen. 28:10-17

Matthew 3:16  16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Acts 7:56  6 And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.

3.   You Must Either __________  _________ Or __________

____________   Of The Door

Gen 15:1-5  After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not fear, Abram, I am a shield to you; Your reward shall be very great.” 2 Abram said, “O Lord God, what will You give me, since I am childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?” 3 And Abram said, “Since You have given no offspring to me, one born in my house is my heir.” 4 Then behold, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “This man will not be your heir; but one who will come forth from your own body, he shall be your heir.” 5 And He took him outside and said, “Now look toward the heavens, and count the stars, if you are able to count them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.”

4.   To Go Through A Door You Must Adjust

5.   There Will Be A Greater Revelation Of Jesus,  Who Is Our Door

John 10:7-11   So Jesus said to them again, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 “All who came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. 9 “I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. 11 “I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.
