WHY WE MUST PRAY IN TONGUES - BISHOP KYLE SEARCY

7/17/13 LEADERSHIP WEDNESDAYS WITH BISHOP KYLE SEARCY



1.    It’s the Holy Spirit praying through your human spirit. 1 Cor. 14:14-15

 

2.    Everyone can speak in tongues. Acts 2:38-39

 

3.    The manifestation that came with being filled with the spirit was speaking in tongues. Acts 2:4,11; 1 Cor. 14:2.

 

4.    Paul the Apostle said “Desire earnestly to prophesy and forbid not to speak with tongues.” 1 Cor. 14:39

 

5.    Paul always asked if people received the Holy Spirit since they believed. Acts 19:1-7.

 

6.    Mark declared tongues as part of our commission.  Mark 16:14-20

 

7.    Tongues is a divine ability to pray in a supernatural language.

 

8.    Jesus said tongues release living water. John 7:38-39

 

9.    The spirit language is the greatest gift the Holy Spirit could give us.            1 Cor. 12:31; 14:4

 

10. Our prayer language gives us spirit to spirit communication with God.  1 Cor. 15:45

 

11. Our spirit language produces power. Acts 1:8

 

12. Our natural language communicates at the speed of sound—tongues at the speed of light. 1 John 1:5

 

13. Praying in tongues builds and increases your faith. Jude 1:20

 

14. It stirs up and activated the gifts in our life. 2 Tim. 1:6

 

15. Tongues activate the fruit of the spirit. Gal 5:22

 

16. The gift is a helper.



17. Tongues is a mighty warfare weapon.

 

18. Tongues are an excellent way to thank God. 1 Cor. 14:17

 

19. Tongues ensure you always have the mind of the spirit. Rom. 8:26

 

20. There is no negative about speaking in tongues except perhaps what others might say—who cares.
