4/13/14 THE POWER OF AGREEMENT I

 

I.             THIS IS OUR REALM

 

1.   We Have Been Given Dominion.

Genesis 1:26

²⁶ Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

 

2.   Humans Rule The Earth Realm.

Psalm 115:14

The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s; But the earth He has given to the children of men.

 

3.   God ___________________ The Right To _______   _________ When He Wants To.

Job 1:9-12

⁹ So Satan answered the Lord and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing? ¹⁰ Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. ¹¹ But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!” ¹² And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person.”

 

 

II.           SATAN WAS CAST OUT SO HE SEEKS TO REIGN IN THIS REALM

 

1.   The Garden Of Eden.

Genesis 3:1-7

Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” ² And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; ³ but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ” ⁴ Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. ⁵ For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” ⁶ So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. ⁷ Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.

 

2.   The Only ________________ Satan Needs To Gain ________________Is Agreement.

Matthew 16:21-23

²¹ From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day. ²² Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You! ²³ But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”

 

2.   Judas

John 13:21-30

²¹ When Jesus had said these things, He was troubled in spirit, and testified and said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, one of you will betray Me.” ²² Then the disciples looked at one another, perplexed about whom He spoke. ²³ Now there was leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved. ²⁴ Simon Peter therefore motioned to him to ask who it was of whom He spoke.²⁵ Then, leaning back on Jesus’ breast, he said to Him, “Lord, who is it?” ²⁶ Jesus answered, “It is he to whom I shall give a piece of bread when I have dipped it.” And having dipped the bread, He gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. ²⁷ Now after the piece of bread, Satan entered him. Then Jesus said to him, “What you do, do quickly.” ²⁸ But no one at the table knew for what reason He said this to him. ²⁹ For some thought, because Judas had the money box, that Jesus had said to him, “Buy those things we need for the feast,” or that he should give something to the poor.³⁰ Having received the piece of bread, he then went out immediately. And it was night.

 

III.          THE MAIN FOCUS OF OUR SPIRITUAL WARFARE IS WARRING AGAINST AGREEMENTS

 

1.   Agreements Can Become Strongholds.

2 Cor. 10:3-5

³ For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. ⁴ For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, ⁵ casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

 

2.   Agreements Become Our _____________________.

Romans 6:15-18

¹⁵ What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! ¹⁶ Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? ¹⁷ But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. ¹⁸ And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.

Romans 10:8-12

⁸ But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): ⁹ that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. ¹⁰ For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. ¹¹ For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”

 

IV.         HOW TO DEAL WITH AGREEMENTS

 

1.   Manifest Ungodly Agreements Through The Word.

Heb. 4:12

¹² For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

 

Psalm 119:105

Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

 

2.   Discern Ungodly Agreements By __________________    ____________.

 

3.   Detect Ungodly Agreements By Your ____________________.

Prov. 17:22

A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones.

 

4.   Follow The Steps For Breaking The Agreement.

1.    Ask God To Constantly Show You All Unrighteous Agreements.

2.    Recognize And Admit You Have Agreed With A Wrong Source.

3.    Rehearse What The Word Or Truth Says About That Thing.

4.    Verbally And Mentally Break The Agreement.

5.    Ask The Lord To Remove It From You.

6.    Begin Building A Stronghold Of Righteousness In That Area By Rehearsing, Decreeing And Believing The Truth.
