The Pace of Jesus | Pastor Tre

The Pace of Jesus

“Time”

I. Time is of the essence

A. I don’t have enough ________?

1. Younger people: MONEY!

2. Older people: TIME!

B. “Time is Money”

1. Time can produce money, money cannot produce time

2. Time is our greatest asset because time produces the greatest return

a. 1 Corinthians 15:42-44

42  So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in

corruption, it is raised in incorruption.

43  It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness,

it is raised in power.

44  It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a

natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

b. Romans 6:23

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in

Christ Jesus our Lord.

3. Time is the catalyst that propels us into eternity

II. But I still don’t have enough time

A. Time is a fixed asset that has been measured out to each individual in

equal increments

1. Acts 17:26

26 And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all

the face of the earth, and has determined their pre-appointed times

and the boundaries of their dwellings

2. Ecclesiastes 3:1

1 To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under

heaven

B. ‘I don’t have time’ is a misconception

1. God has not created enough time for me

2. I am not managing my time well

3. Ephesians 5:15-16

15  See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise,

16  redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

III. The Recipe

A. Know the end game

1. John 12:27

27 “Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from

this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour.

2. John 18:37

37 Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?” Jesus

answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born,

and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should

bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”

3. Proverbs 29:18

18 Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint

B. Follow the steps

1. Matthew 15:21-24

21  Then Jesus went out from there and departed to the region of Tyre

and Sidon.

22  And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried

out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My

daughter is severely demon-possessed.”

23  But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged

Him, saying, “Send her away, for she cries out after us.”

24  But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep

of the house of Israel.”

2. Mark 1:36-38

36  And Simon and those who were with Him searched for Him.

37  When they found Him, they said to Him, “Everyone is looking for

You.” 38  But He said to them, “Let us go into the next towns, that I may

preach there also, because for this purpose I have come forth.”

3. John 9:1-4

1 Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth.

2  And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or

his parents, that he was born blind?”

3  Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the

works of God should be revealed in him.

4  I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is

coming when no one can work.

C. Leave out the fillers

Fillers – Low quality food products with little or no nutritional value such

as MSG, artificial food coloring, HFCS, etc.

1. John 6:22-37

22  On the following day, when the people who were standing on the

other side of the sea saw that there was no other boat there,

except  [d] that one  [e] which His disciples had entered, and that Jesus had

not entered the boat with His disciples, but His disciples had gone

away alone—

23  however, other boats came from Tiberias, near the place where they

ate bread after the Lord had given thanks—

24  when the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, nor His

disciples, they also got into boats and came to Capernaum, seeking

Jesus.

25  And when they found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to

Him, “Rabbi, when did You come here?”

26  Jesus answered them and said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, you

seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of

the loaves and were filled.

27  Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which

endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give

you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.”

28  Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the

works of God?”

29  Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you

believe in Him whom He sent.”

30  Therefore they said to Him, “What sign will You perform then, that

we may see it and believe You? What work will You do?

31  Our fathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written, ‘He gave

them bread from heaven to eat.’”

32  Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did

not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true

bread from heaven.

33  For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives

life to the world.”

34  Then they said to Him, “Lord, give us this bread always.”

35  And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me

shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.

36  But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe.

37 All that the Father gives me will come to me, and the one who comes

to me I will by no means cast out
