EMBRACING THE KINGDOM

Characteristics of the Kingdom

Matthew 6:9-10

9 In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.

10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Luke 17:20-21

20 Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered

them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; 

21 nor will they say,  [f] ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”

There seem to be two contradictory thoughts.

 Pray for His Kingdom to come daily

 The Kingdom does not come with observation, it is not here or there – it is within

you.

I. THERE ARE TWO REALITIES OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD

1. The Domain of the King

The spiritual realm where God rules and reigns as Sovereign Monarch of the

Universe

Revelation 4:2-3, 6

2 Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat

on the throne. 

3  And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in

appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an

emerald

6 Before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the

throne, and around the throne

2. The Fulfillment of God’s will on the Earth

Matthew 6:10

10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven

Luke12:29

29 And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an

anxious mind. For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your

Father knows that you need these things. But seek the kingdom of God, and all

these things shall be added to you.

II. EMBRACING THE KINGDOM

Understand your Identity

YOU ARE OF A DIFFERENT NATIONALITY – CITIZEN OF HEAVEN

John 17:15-17

15 I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should

keep them from the evil one. 

16  They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 

17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. 

1. Renew Your Mind

Romans 12:2

2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing

of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and

perfect will of God.

2. Live by Kingdom Rules

Born Again

Colossians 1:13

13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and  [c] conveyed us into the

kingdom of the Son of His love,

III. ENFORCE KINGDOM AUTHORITY

Matthew 10:7-8

7 And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’

8  Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you

have received, freely give.

Luke 10:1, 9

1 After these things the Lord appointed  [a] seventy others also, and sent them two by

two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go

9 And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to

you.’ 

RESULTS

Luke 10:17

17 Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject

to us in Your name.”

IV. PRODUCE THE EVIDENCE OF THE KINGDOM

Luke 9

 Heal the sick there and say the Kingdom of God is near you

 Miracles Signs and Wonders are a Physical Manifestation of the Kingdom

Luke 10:19

19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over

all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
