RUSSIA AND UKRAINE

 RUSSIA AND UKRAINE

1. Jesus claims every nation as His Inheritance

Psalm 2:1-10

1 Why do the nations rage, And the people plot a vain thing?

2 The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together, Against the

LORD and against His Anointed, saying,

3 “Let us break Their bonds in pieces and cast away Their cords from us.”

4 He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The LORD shall hold them in derision.

5 Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and distress them in His deep displeasure:

6 “Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion.”

7 “I will declare the decree: The LORD has said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have

begotten You.

8 Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the

earth for Your possession.

9 You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s

vessel.’”

10 Now therefore, be wise, O kings; Be instructed, you judges of the earth.

2. We are to focus on God’s Kingdom Coming to Earth

Matthew 6:9-10

9 In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.

10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done

3. Brothers and sisters are also affected in nations we declare war against

4. Europe cannot survive without Russia (winter’s)

5. America cannot survive without the cheap labor in China

I. WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS

1. Wars and Rumors of Wars

Matthew 24:3-8

3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately,

saying, “tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your

coming, and of the end of the age?”

4  And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you.

5  For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.

6  And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for

all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

7  For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will

be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.

8  All these are the beginning of sorrows.

2. Russia is an End Time Player

a. He will align with other nations to attack Israel

Ezekiel 38:14-16

14 “Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say to Gog, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD:

“On that day when My people Israel dwell safely, will you not know it?

15  Then you will come from your place out of the far north, you and many

peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great company and a mighty

army.

16  You will come up against My people Israel like a cloud, to cover the land. It

will be in the latter days that I will bring you against My land, so that the

nations may know Me, when I am hallowed in you, O Gog, before their eyes.”

b. He will be defeated

Ezekiel 38:18-23

18 “And it will come to pass at the same time, when Gog comes against the

land of Israel,” says the Lord GOD, “that My fury will show in My face.

19  For in My jealousy and in the fire of My wrath I have spoken: ‘Surely in that

day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel,

20  so that the fish of the sea, the birds of the heavens, the beasts of the field,

all creeping things that creep on the earth, and all men who are on the face

of the earth shall shake at My presence. The mountains shall be thrown

down, the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.’

21  I will call for a sword against Gog throughout all My mountains,” says the

Lord GOD. “Every man’s sword will be against his brother.

22  And I will bring him to judgment with pestilence and bloodshed; I will rain

down on him, on his troops, and on the many peoples who are with him,

flooding rain, great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.

23  Thus I will magnify Myself and sanctify Myself, and I will be known in the

eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am the LORD.”’

3. Armageddon

a. The final war between human governments and God

Psalm 2:1-10

1 Why do the nations rage, And the people plot a vain thing?

2 The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together,

Against the LORD and against His Anointed, saying,

3 “Let us break Their bonds in pieces and cast away Their cords from us.”

4 He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The LORD shall hold them in derision. 5

Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and distress them in His deep

displeasure:

6 “Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion.”

7 “I will declare the decree: The LORD has said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I

have begotten You.

8 Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends

of the earth for Your possession.

9 You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a

potter’s vessel.’ ”

10 Now, therefore, be wise, O kings; Be instructed, you judges of the earth.

b. It will bring human rulership to an end

Daniel 2:44

44 And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom

which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other

people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall

stand forever.

c. All the Kings of the earth will be gathered

Revelation 16:14

14 For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of

the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great

day of God Almighty

d. Jesus will lead an Army

Revelation 19:11-16, 21

11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on

him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes

war.

12  His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He

had a name written that no one knew except Himself.

13  He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The

Word of God.

14  And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed

Him on white horses.

15  Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the

nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads

the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

16  And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written…

21  And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of

Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.

II. MY OBSERVATIONS

1. Russia is determined to regain all nations in former Soviet Union

2. West’s response is weak

a. Europe cannot survive without oil from Russia

b. United States and other nations dependent on Chinese Manufacturing

3. Other nations emboldened, due to response of the West

a. China Taiwan

b. North Korea

c. Iran Israel

4. China backing Russia weakens sanctions

5. You will be surprised at the nations that are ok with what Russia is doing

6. Major realignment of nations is taking place

7. Our world is shaping up to look very different in next 3 to 5 years

III. WHAT WE NEED TO DO

1. Pray

1 Timothy 2:1-2

1 Therefore, I exhort first of all those supplications, prayers, intercessions, and

giving of thanks be made for all men,

2  for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable

life in all godliness and reverence.

 Pray for America’s response

 Pray and Decree Peace

 Pray for Believers in both Countries

 Pray for Jesus to reign down on both Battlefields

2. Do not be troubled

Matthew 24:6

6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled

3. Cast off passivity

2 Samuel 11:1

1 It happened in the spring of the year, at the time when kings go out to battle,

that David sent Joab and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed

the people of Ammon and besieged Rabbah. But David remained at Jerusalem

4. Deepen intimacy with Christ

Matthew 24 & Matthew 25

Matthew 25:1-13

1 “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps

and went out to meet the bridegroom.

2  Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

3  Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them,

4  but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

5  But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.

6  “And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to

meet him!’

7  Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps.

8  And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are

going out.’

9  But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and

you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’

10  And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready

went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.

11  “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’

12  But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’

13  “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of

Man is coming.
