AUTHORIZED II - The Kingdom Mindset

AUTHORIZED II
The Kingdom Mindset

I. THE BIBLE IS ABOUT A KINGDOM.

The message of the bible is a message about a king and His kingdom.  The original plan of God was to establish and extend His invisible heavenly Kingdom on earth.  God's plan is revealed in Genesis 1&2; it got messed up in chapter 3, and from chapter 3 to Revelation 22 is God's plan to restore His original plan.  Jesus came to preach about the Kingdom, not a religion. He came to restore the fallen kingdom and put it back into the hands of mankind.  The Kingdom of God is something we understand and pursue

1. Jesus and the Kingdom

a. Jesus taught about a present tense Kingdom.

Matthew 4:17
17From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

b. Jesus Preached the Kingdom

Luke 4:43
43but He said to them, "I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for his purpose I have been sent.

c. Jesus Taught that We would Inherit a Kingdom

Matthew 25:34
34Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

Matthew 6:33
33But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

d. Jesus Taught Rewards for Kingdom Faithfulness

Matthew 20:1
"1For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.

II. WHAT IS THE KINGDOM

1. Governance or Rule

Def - The word kingdom in Greek is Bascillia - It means sovereignty or royal power or dominion.  In Hebrew, it is Mamlacah - meaning dominion, sovereignty, rulership, or authority.

a. The sovereign influence, impact, and rulership of a king over a territory
b. The governing impact of a king's will and purpose over a domain
c. A king's influence over a people and a domain
d. A territory over which a king rules and his government structure has impact
e. It is a practical government, it is not a religion

Isaiah 9:6-7
6For unto us a Child is born, Unto us, a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever.  The zeal of the Lord of host will perform this.

2. The Dominion of a King

A democratic, western world, church mindset can compete with true Kingdom principles. However, there is a definite contrast between some church thinking and true kingdom reality.

3. A Change Within

At this stage of kingdom manifestation, the kingdom is internal with outward manifestation.  Kingdom change first happens internally, It starts with a mind change, resulting in life change.

Luke 17:20-21
20Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, "The kingdom of God does not come with observation; 21nor will they say, 'See here!' or 'See there!' For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you."

John 3:3
3Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

1Corinthians 6:9-11
9Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

4. Establish Kingdom Rule in Your Space

Matthew 16:18-19
18And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. 19And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth is bind in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

1 Corinthians 15:24-25
24Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. 25For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet.

III. THE EKKLESIA

1. God's Kingdom Delegate on Earth

In Greek culture, an ekklesia was the ruling body that governed the polis or city-state.  Thus Jesus didn't create a new word but borrowed it from a common political word to describe His goal for those who would be His disciples: that they would represent His kingdom will on earth with bindiing and loosing powers that would govern the heavenly principalities (Ephesians 3:8-10; 6:10-18) and thus transform earthly communities where each ekklesia was established. The people of God are called to have and Ekklesia/ Kingdome mindset, not a church congregation paradigm.

Here's a chart that shows the difference between the two

IV. KINGDOM CONCEPTS

1. The Law of Dominion

Genesis 1:26-28
26Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." 27So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him/ make and female He created them. 28Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth."

Dominion means the authorization to carry out God's Purpose. Notice He did not say, "let us" have dominion, He said "let them" have dominion. Dominion was given to us. God himself chooses to be subject to this principle.

Psalm 8:4-6
4What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man, that You visit him? 5For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor. 6You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet.

Psalm 115:16
16The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's; But the earth He has given to the children of men.

God did not originally create man for heaven. He was created for the earth. And he will still live on the earth for all eternity (Revelation 21:1). Our job is to make earth like heaven. This is why Jesus taught us to pray thy kingdom come and thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We are to fill the earth with Kingdom rule.  Our dominion mandate authorizes us to do so.

Principles of Dominion

  • Humans are the only ones that have the legal authority to rule on earth
  • God excludes himself from the right to rule on the earth
  • Jesus needed a body for this very reason
  • Any spirit being is illegal on earth without the invitation of a physical human being
  • Jesus is the Second Adam who took the rightful authority back that Adam gave to Satan
2. The Law of Delegated Authority

a. Jesus Reclaimed Authority from Satan

Matthew 28:18
18And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

Philippians 2:9
9Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,

b. Jesus Delegated Authority to Us

Matthew 28:18-20
18And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19God therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.

Luke 10:19
19Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Mark 16:15-18
15And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17And these signs will flow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18they take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

3. The Law of Violence (We must enforce the kingdom)

12And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.

James 5:16
16Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Luke 12:31-32
31But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. 32Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

4. The Law of Victory (We already have victory before we fight)

Ephesians 1:20
20which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.

Ephesians 2:4-6
4But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

1 John 5:4
4For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith.

Romans 8:28
35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36As it is written: "For You sake we are killed all the day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter." 37Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
